Indiana repeals prevailing wage. Rep. Gary Glenn's bill to repeal prevailing wage requirements for public school construction projects has 25 cosponsors and would save Michigan taxpayers an estimated $223 million per year.
"Opponents of the (prevailing wage) system say it leads to higher wages — often union wages — on public construction projects, costing taxpayers more money. The vote represents a victory for (Gov. Mike) Pence, who has campaigned hard for the measure."
