Pastor and former Fox News host, Gov. Mike Huckabee, has endorsed state Rep. Gary Glenn, R-Williams Twp., in the 2018 Republican primary election for the state Senate seat representing Bay, Lapeer, and Tuscola counties.
"Gary Glenn has been a nationally recognized leader throughout his adult life," Huckabee said. "Whether in helping lead the astonishing effort to make Michigan a Right to Work state, or coauthoring Michigan's voter-approved Marriage Protection Amendment, or as county commissioner in the 90s authoring the first Health Savings Account for county employees anywhere in America, Gary has led on the toughest issues time after time."
"It's also important to me that Gary is the only Republican in this primary who served our country in uniform, and who's firmly committed to protecting our 2nd Amendment right to defend ourselves and our families," Huckabee said.
Glenn said he is "honored to have the support of one of the most eloquent and effective defenders of traditional Christian faith and values in America today."
Glenn's campaign is airing a radio advertisement featuring Huckabee's endorsement.
"Family values and being pro-life and believing in old-fashioned marriage have never been under assault like they are now," Huckabee says in the ad. "A very special friend, Gary Glenn, has been one of the stalwart and key people who has not flinched or wavered in his commitment to pro-life and pro-family values."
“Gary has been absolutely committed to maintaining a steady and solid course for truth. I'm grateful for that," Huckabee says in the ad. "If we had leaders like Gary Glenn across America, our work wouldn't be so hard. Unfortunately, not everybody has his convictions, or his courage.”
