MLIVE | Gary Glenn submits argument for same-sex marriage ban to Supreme Court

"State Rep. Gary Glenn, R-Larkin Township, co-authored the same-sex marriage ban passed by Michigan voters as an amendment to the state's Constitution in 2004. Glenn's brief (to the U.S. Supreme Court), filed on April 2, argues in favor of 'memorializing the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman in the Michigan Constitution.'

...Glenn explained Monday why his group submitted the argument to the high court. 'As coauthor of the Marriage Protection Amendment, I know Michigan voters joined me in rationally choosing to preserve what's best for society and future generations of children, consistent with over a century of Supreme Court precedent and on the right side of history as far back as recorded time,' he said."
